§ 1.2. Authority.

(1)

Authority for this ordinance is provided under the provisions of volume 10, title 11, chapter 52, article 4, Code of Alabama, 1975 (Code of Ala. 1975, vol. 10, tit. 11, ch. 52, art. 4 [Code of Ala. 1975, § 11-52-70 et seq.]), as amended and supplemented by all applicable laws and said regulations governing:

(a)

The establishment of districts within the corporate limits of Bessemer, Alabama, and;

(b)

The regulation within such districts of the height, number of stories and size of buildings and other structures, the percentage of lots that may be occupied, the size of yards and other open spaces, the density of population and the use of buildings, structures and land, and;

(c)

The replacement of all existing zoning ordinances, and;

(d)

The provision of methods for administration of this ordinance and penalties thereof, as hereby adopted by the city council of the City of Bessemer.
